Built for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 865 G10 combines an 8-core Ryzen 7 7840U processor with 16GB DDR5 memory and a 256GB NVMe drive. A 16.0" WUXGA display at 1920 x 1200 resolution provides ample workspace for documents and video calls. Integrated Radeon 780M graphics handle everyday visual tasks without a discrete card. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for managed environments.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 3.3 GHz base clock and 16MB L3 cache allow the 7000 Series chip to maintain throughput during long compile or rendering sessions. Shared system memory feeds the Radeon 780M, so heavy graphics loads compete with application data for bandwidth. Thunderbolt 4 ports run at 40Gbps, keeping external storage or docks from becoming bottlenecks. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 preserve stable wireless links in dense offices.

Installation notes and common issues

The laptop ships with charger and battery; no further assembly is required. Grade B cosmetic condition means visible scratches or shiny keycaps are normal and do not affect function. The 256GB NVMe capacity may require an early upgrade for users with large local datasets. Only two USB Type-A 5Gbps ports are available, so legacy peripheral users often need a hub.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Ryzen 7 7840U get under sustained load?

The 8-core Ryzen 7 7840U runs at a 3.3 GHz base clock with 16 MB L3 cache; integrated Radeon 780M graphics share system memory, so thermals and fan noise scale with combined CPU and GPU workload.

Which docks or peripherals must I already own to use the two Thunderbolt 4 ports at 40 Gbps?

Any Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 certified dock, monitor or storage device will negotiate the full 40 Gbps link; legacy USB-C gear works at its own rated speed.

Will my older USB-A 5 Gbps accessories and HDMI 1080p monitor work without adapters?

Yes — the laptop provides two USB-A 5 Gbps ports and one HDMI port, so existing keyboards, mice, drives and 1920 x 1080 displays connect directly.
