Ideal for small-business wireless

The HP JW813A Aruba Instant IAP-315 is a new 802.11ac access point built for small offices and branch locations. It delivers 2.10 Gbit/s aggregate throughput across 2.40 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The Instant 310 series architecture allows controller-less deployment and management.

Upgrade from single-band hardware

Replacing older single-band or 802.11n units with this dual-band model adds 5 GHz capacity and higher data rates for denser client environments. The jump is worthwhile when existing gear cannot serve growing device counts or when legacy coverage leaves dead zones.

Steady throughput under load

Under sustained traffic the dual-radio design keeps 2.40 GHz and 5 GHz clients on separate radios to reduce contention. The 2.10 Gbit/s rating reflects combined peak capacity rather than a single-link burst, so real-world aggregate throughput remains consistent during extended busy periods.

Questions about this item

What mounting hardware does the IAP-315 include for ceiling or wall installation?

The Aruba Instant IAP-315 ships with a mounting bracket that secures to a standard ceiling grid or flat wall surface using four screws.

Which step is commonly missed when powering the JW813A for the first time?

Connect the Ethernet cable to the PoE port before applying power; the unit will not boot from the auxiliary DC jack unless PoE is absent.

When should the internal radios of the 310 series access point be re-calibrated?

Re-run the ARM calibration after any firmware upgrade or when the RF environment changes significantly, such as adding neighbouring APs.
