Business ultrabook for mobile professionals

The HP ProBook 640 G5 is a 14.0-inch laptop built around an Intel Core i7-8650U processor with six cores and 16 GB of DDR4 memory. A 128 GB SSD provides the system drive while Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed. The configuration targets users who need a lightweight Windows machine for office applications and video calls.

Silver aluminium chassis with versatile ports

The unibody construction uses silver aluminium and includes a non-touch 1920 x 1080 IPS panel with LED backlight. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.1, an HDMI output, one USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port supporting Power Delivery and DisplayPort, plus three USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the display and external monitors.

Steps up from dual-core ultrabooks

Moving from a two-core device brings noticeably smoother multitasking when several browser tabs, documents and a video conference run together. The 128 GB capacity suits cloud-first workflows but will feel tight for local media libraries or large project files. Buyers who want more storage or a larger 15.6-inch screen should consider other models in the range.
