HP ProBook 640 G5 Ultrabook

The HP ProBook 640 G5 is a 14 inch Full HD ultrabook powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8365U quad-core processor with 32 GB DDR4 RAM and a 128 GB SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes Intel UHD Graphics 620 for everyday visual tasks. The silver aluminium chassis combines portability with business-focused manageability features such as Intel vPro support.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Confirm your workflow fits a 128 GB system drive and integrated graphics, as neither storage nor GPU can be upgraded after purchase. The display is a non-touch 1920 x 1080 IPS panel with LED backlight, so verify that screen size and touch requirements match your needs. Connectivity provides Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.1, HDMI, one USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port with Power Delivery and DisplayPort, plus three USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports.

Sustained-load behaviour

Under continuous workloads the 1.6 GHz quad-core CPU maintains performance within its thermal envelope thanks to the aluminium unibody acting as a heat spreader. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 shares system memory, so prolonged 3D or video tasks will draw from the 32 GB DDR4 pool rather than dedicated VRAM. The 128 GB SSD delivers consistent read-write speeds without thermal throttling during extended file transfers.
