Business ultrabook with 32 GB DDR4

The HP ProBook 640 G5 is a 14-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U processor and equipped with 32 GB of DDR4 memory. Dual solid-state storage combines a 128 GB M.2 drive with a 1 TB SSD for fast boot and ample file space. A 1920 x 1080 IPS panel and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handle everyday visual tasks.

Suited for office multitasking, not heavy GPU work

This configuration serves professionals who need generous memory for virtual machines, large spreadsheets or many browser tabs. The integrated graphics and non-touch Full HD screen limit its appeal for 3D rendering, video editing or colour-critical design work. Buyers who want a dedicated GPU or a touch-enabled display should consider other models.

Fits thin-and-light fleets with modern ports

The silver aluminium chassis includes Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.1, HDMI, one USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port with Power Delivery and DisplayPort, plus three USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed. The compact 14-inch form factor slips into standard business bags, while the port selection covers legacy peripherals and external monitors without adapters.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop need a proprietary charger or can I use a standard USB-C PD power supply?

The single USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port supports Power Delivery, so a standard USB-C PD charger can power the unit.

Will my older USB-A peripherals work with the three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports?

Yes, the three USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.

How can I verify the 32 GB DDR4 memory and dual SSD storage are recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager > Performance to confirm 32 GB RAM, and check Disk Management for both the 128 GB M.2 drive and the 1 TB SSD.
