Questions about this item

How do I install the J9309A module into a 5400ZL chassis and which step is most often missed?

Power down the switch, slide the module into an open ZL slot until the ejector lever clicks, then secure the captive screws; the step most often missed is tightening those screws, which ensures proper electrical contact.

What ongoing maintenance or replacement will the J9309A 4-port 10GbE SFP+ ZL module require?

The module itself has no moving parts and needs no scheduled maintenance; plan to replace SFP+ transceivers if a port link fails or when upgrading to different fibre types or reach distances.
