HPE Networking Instant On AP-518 (RW) access point

HPE Instant On AP-518 access point

The HPE Networking Instant On AP-518 (RW) is a hardened indoor wireless access point designed for businesses that need reliable Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. It supports IEEE 802.11ax, 802.11ac Wave 2 and legacy protocols down to 802.11b/g/n. The unit delivers a maximum data transfer rate of 3Gbps across dual radios. It is managed through ArubaOS or InstantOS.

Six RPSMA connectors and multi-protocol radio

Six external RPSMA connectors allow flexible antenna placement for coverage tuning in challenging indoor environments. The integrated radios handle 802.11ax and 802.11ac Wave 2 simultaneously alongside Bluetooth 5.0 and ZigBee for IoT device onboarding. This multi-protocol support reduces the need for separate gateways. PoE power input simplifies cabling by carrying data and power over a single Ethernet run.

Suits managed Wi-Fi 6 deployments with IoT

Organisations that require a single vendor stack for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and ZigBee management will benefit from the unified ArubaOS or InstantOS control plane. Buyers needing outdoor-rated enclosures or higher spatial-stream counts should evaluate other models. Environments without PoE infrastructure will need separate injectors. The limited lifetime warranty covers the hardware for as long as the original owner holds it.
