Indoor unified campus access point

The HPE Networking Instant On AP-555 (RW) JZ356A is an indoor unified campus access point built for ceiling mounting. It delivers a data transfer rate of 4.8 Gbps through dual radios with 8x8:8 and 4x4:4 spatial streams using 802.11ax connectivity technology.

Suitable for high-density indoor deployments

This access point suits organisations that need high-capacity wireless coverage across large indoor areas such as offices, schools or hospitality venues. It is not intended for outdoor installations or ruggedised environments that require weatherproof enclosures.

Single 4.8 Gbps 802.11ax radio link

The decisive specification is the 4.8 Gbps maximum data rate provided by the dual-radio 802.11ax design with internal antennas. Buyers who need higher aggregate throughput or external antenna flexibility should look at other models.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the AP-555 (RW) JZ356A produce when running continuously?

The AP-555 (RW) JZ356A has an indoor, in-ceiling ruggedized design with no moving parts, so it operates silently and generates minimal heat during continuous use.

What existing network equipment is required for the HPE Smart Rate RJ-45 port on this access point to function?

The HPE Smart Rate RJ-45 port requires a compatible switch port and Ethernet cabling that supports the negotiated data rate for the 4.8 Gbps wireless throughput.

Will the AP-555 (RW) JZ356A work with client devices that only support the older 802.11 standard?

Yes, the dual-radio 8x8:8 and 4x4:4 design supports backward compatibility with legacy 802.11 clients while delivering 4.8 Gbps peak throughput to newer devices.
