HPE X125 1G SFP LH40 Transceiver

The HPE X125 is a hot-swappable SFP transceiver designed for Gigabit Ethernet data networking. It operates at 1310nm over single-mode optical fiber with an LC duplex connector. The module supports 1000Base-LH links up to 40 kilometres and fits standard mini-GBIC slots.

Suited for long single-mode links not short

Network engineers extending campus or metro connections with single-mode fiber will find this module appropriate. It is not suited for multimode fiber installations or links requiring shorter reach optics. Buyers needing higher speeds or different wavelengths should evaluate other form factors.

1310nm single-mode 40km reach decides compatibility

The 1310nm wavelength combined with 1000Base-LH signalling determines whether this transceiver matches the link budget and fiber plant. Verify that the opposite end uses the same wavelength and distance rating before deployment.

Questions about this item

What distance will the 1310nm wavelength actually reach on single-mode fibre?

The module is rated for 40 km on single-mode fibre at 1 Gbps.

Does the LC 1000Base-LH interface limit throughput to 1 Gbps?

Yes, the port runs at Gigabit Ethernet speed and cannot exceed 1000 Mbps.

Will the 0.5" x 0.6" x 2.2" hot-swappable form factor fit a standard SFP cage?

Yes, it conforms to the SFP mini-GBIC dimensions and slides into any compliant cage.
