Product Identity

The IBM 90Y2346 is a Tesla K20 GPU accelerator with 5GB of GDDR5 memory and a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface. It is built for compute workloads that benefit from GPU parallelism.

Suitability

This card suits users who need a double-slot accelerator for compatible servers or workstations with an available x16 slot. It is not for buyers who require a newer interface standard, more than 5GB of memory, or a card that fits a single-slot form factor.

Deciding Specification

The PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface determines whether this accelerator can be installed in the target system. Verify that the motherboard or riser provides this exact connection before purchase.

Questions about this item

What thermal limit appears first when the Tesla K20 runs sustained compute workloads?

The GPU throttles when its core temperature reaches the hardware thermal ceiling, reducing clocks until temperatures drop.

How much power does the card draw and how loud does it get during all-day operation?

The accelerator uses a dual-slot active cooler; fan speed ramps with load, so sustained work raises both power draw and audible noise.

Which slot and power connectors must my server already provide for this K20?

It needs a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot and two 6-pin PCIe power cables from the power supply.
