5.25" DuoSwap SATA drive caddy

The ICY DOCK MB971SP-B mounts one 2.5" SATA SSD or HDD and one 3.5" SATA HDD inside a single 5.25" half-height bay. Tool-less trays and individual eject buttons let you hot-swap either drive in seconds without opening the case. Two SATA 7-pin host ports deliver up to 6 Gbit/s transfer rates, limited only by the installed drive. A two-part anti-dust cover seals the unused slot when only the smaller drive is fitted.

Suits labs and duplication rigs needing quick SATA

Technicians who frequently rotate 2.5" or 3.5" SATA drives for imaging, recovery or testing will benefit from the front-access design and per-drive power LEDs. Builders with no free 5.25" bay, or who require support for drives taller than 12.5 mm, must choose a different mounting solution. The caddy does not accommodate 2.5" drives thicker than 9.5 mm when the 3.5" bay is occupied.

The defining constraint is the shared bay: one 2.5" drive up to 12.5 mm and one 3.5" drive occupy the same front panel, so maximum thickness for the smaller drive drops to 9.5 mm when both bays are populated.
