What this camera delivers

The ieGeek ZS-GX4S is a 5MP solar-powered wireless security camera built for outdoor home monitoring. It captures 2592×1944 QHD video and provides a 360° PTZ panoramic view with 100ft color night vision. The system includes one dome-type camera that operates on 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi and works with Alexa for voice control.

The specification that decides fit

This camera requires a 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi network and cannot connect to 5Ghz bands, so your router must support that frequency. It runs on solar power with wire-free installation and stores footage using encrypted local or cloud storage via the ieGeek Cam or CloudEdge apps. The 2023 upgrade brings 5MP resolution and intelligent human, pet, car and package detection.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Ideal for homeowners wanting a single wire-free outdoor camera with pan-tilt coverage, spotlight and siren deterrence, and two-way talk through the app. Not suited for buyers who need multiple cameras in one kit, require 5Ghz Wi-Fi compatibility, or want continuous wired power without solar dependency. Professional installers needing PoE or NVR integration should consider other options.

Questions about this item

What does the 5MP resolution look like on a phone screen?

The camera records at 2592 by 1944 pixels, so live view and playback show sharp detail on mobile devices.

How does the 2.4 GHz wireless link affect placement?

It connects to a 2.4 GHz network only, so the camera must stay within reliable range of that band.

What mounting hardware is needed for the 360° PTZ movement?

The dome body rotates through a full 360°, so a flat wall or ceiling surface with standard screw anchors is sufficient.
