Universal SATA IDE Adapter Kit

The IHDAPP adapter connects SATA and IDE drives to a computer through USB 3.0. It accepts 2.5 and 3.5 inch hard drives, solid-state drives and 5.25 inch optical drives. The kit includes the reader, a 12V 2A power supply, a 4-pin power cable and a USB cable. Maximum supported drive capacity is 6 TB.

USB 3.0 Speed and Compatibility Limits

Data moves at up to 5 Gbps over USB 3.0 and falls back to USB 2.0 and 1.1 when required. Actual throughput depends on the attached drive and the host port. The device works with Windows XP through 10, Mac OS 10 or higher and Linux. It cannot serve drives larger than the stated 6 TB ceiling.

The black plastic housing measures 6.06 by 4.45 by 2.01 inches and sits on a desk without mounting hardware. A single USB 3.0 cable links to the host while the external adapter powers 3.5 inch IDE and older SATA units through the 4-pin connector.
