Fanless industrial mini PC

The Inctel I27-i7 8550U-16G512G is a fanless mini desktop built around an Intel Core i7 8550U quad-core processor with 8 MB cache and a 15 W TDP. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory, a 512 GB SSD and a Windows 10 Pro licence. The all-metal chassis acts as a heatsink, making it suitable for noise-sensitive or dust-prone environments.

Expansion slots and legacy I/O

One SO-DIMM slot supports up to 32 GB of DDR4, while an M.2 2280 slot, a full-size mSATA connector and a 2.5 inch SATA bay provide additional storage options. Two mini-PCIe sockets accommodate Wi-Fi or 4G modules, and dual Intel i213 controllers deliver two Gigabit LAN ports. Six COM ports, an 8-bit GPIO header and a parallel port cover industrial automation needs.

Sustained thermal behaviour

With a 15 W TDP and no moving parts, the system relies on the metal enclosure to dissipate heat continuously. The CPU can reach a maximum turbo frequency of 4.0 GHz, but prolonged heavy loads will be limited by the passive thermal capacity rather than fan curves. This design favours steady, predictable throughput over short burst performance.

Questions about this item

What is the thermal limit of the Core i7 8550U under continuous load?

The processor has a 15 W TDP and runs fanless in an all-metal chassis, so sustained performance is capped by the case's ability to dissipate that heat.

How much noise and heat does the fanless design produce during all-day operation?

With no moving parts the system is silent, and the aluminium enclosure spreads the 15 W CPU heat across its surface for passive cooling.

Does the unit include a display or must I supply my own?

No monitor is included; you connect your own screen via the HD or VGA ports.
