PCIe x8 Gen4 ReDriver adapter
The Innocard DP8507 is a PCIe x8 Gen4 gender changer with an integrated ReDriver that extends 8-lane data signals across longer traces and cables. It targets server and industrial builders who need reliable PCIe 4.0 connectivity between a host board and an EDSFF 2C device.
Sustained link stability under load
A built-in 100 MHz clock buffer and bidirectional voltage-level translators for WAKE# and CLKREQ# maintain signal integrity over extended distances during continuous operation. The 12 V hot-plug power path includes an eFuse for protection, while PERST0# and PERST1# support out-of-band remote reset of the attached Gen-Z 2C module.
EDSFF 2C connector with BMC management
The card provides a latched EDSFF 2C connector and exposes SMBus addresses 0x6C for clock-buffer control and 0x21 for Gen-Z 2C power-disable via an I/O expander, enabling full Baseboard Management Controller oversight. It is not suited for installations that require a different form factor or lack BMC infrastructure.

Questions about this item
Does the built-in ReDriver and clock buffer add noticeable heat or power draw when the PCIe x8 Gen 4 link runs continuously?
The card includes a PCIe ReDriver and 100 MHz clock buffer to extend the 8-lane Gen 4 signal over longer traces and cables, plus a 12 V hot-plug eFuse for power protection; no active cooling is fitted, so dissipation stays within the slot and cable budget.
What host connector and chassis slot must already be present for this EDSFF gender changer to install?
A PCIe x8 Gen 4 CEM slot on the motherboard or riser is required, and the board provides a built-in EDSFF 2C latch connector for the mating cable or device.
Will the PERST and WAKE translators on this card work with a Gen-Z 2C drive that uses the older SMBus address scheme?
The on-board I/O expander uses address 0x21 and the clock buffer uses 0x6C for BMC management, while PERST0#, PERST1#, WAKE# and CLKREQ# translators provide open-drain level shifting compatible with Gen-Z 2C out-of-band control.
