PCIe Gen4 ReDriver adapter
This PCIe Gen4 adapter converts an OCulink 8i SFF-8612 connection to a PCIe x8 Gen 4 slot. It integrates a ReDriver to extend signal reach across longer traces and cables. A built-in 100 MHz clock buffer with 100 ohm impedance drives extended lengths. The green D1 LED indicates when the add-in card is ready.
SFF-8612 pin-out compliance
The adapter follows SFF-9402 Rev 1.1 pin-out definitions for the OCulink 8i connector. It meets PCI Express Base Specification Rev 4.0 and PCIe CEM Spec R4.0 standards. An onboard SMBus switch at address 0xE2 manages four channels with reset for both OCulink SMBus and clock buffer control. PERST#, WAKE#, CLKREQ# and PWRBRK# buffer gates support longer cable runs.
Bifurcation support for rack use
The card supports PCIe bifurcation so a single x8 link can be split into multiple lanes for dense rack deployments. Operating system support covers Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and UEFI 2.3.1 or later firmware. No driver installation is required for the hardware conversion itself. The adapter is designed and made in Taiwan.

Questions about this item
What does the PCIe x8 Gen 4 link deliver once the card is installed?
The built-in ReDriver extends the PCIe 4.0 8-lane signal so the OCulink 8i device receives a clean high-speed link over longer cables.
Which standard governs the OCulink 8i connector and what does it limit?
The SFF-8612 connector follows SFF-9402 Rev 1.1 pin-out and is compliant with the PCI Express OCulink 1.0 a specification.
What does the adapter need to fit inside a rack chassis?
It mounts as a standard add-in card and uses the on-board PERST#, WAKE#, CLKREQ# and PWRBRK# buffers to maintain signal integrity over extended trace lengths.
