3U 2Post-to-4Post Conversion Kit

This four-piece bracket kit converts a two-post relay rack into a four-post enclosure so 3U servers from Dell, HP, IBM and similar brands can be mounted securely. Each bracket spans three rack units and fits standard 19-inch and 23-inch EIA cabinets with three-inch or six-inch uprights. All mounting hardware is included for a straightforward retrofit.

Weight and Width Limits

Every rack unit supports up to 50 lbs, so the total load across the 3U height must stay within that per-unit rating. The server chassis, including its own mounting rails, cannot exceed 17.72 inches in width or it will not fit between the uprights. These two constraints define whether a given appliance can be installed safely.

3U Height Compatibility

The brackets are built specifically for 3U-high equipment; shorter or taller servers will not align with the mounting holes. Buyers needing to convert space for 1U, 2U or 4U devices should select a different kit height.
