Wallmount rack for patch panels

The iStarUSA WOW-320 is a 3U open-frame cabinet that mounts directly to a wall or sits on a desktop. It accepts standard EIA rack-mount devices such as patch panels, hubs or routers with a chassis depth of 16" or less. The unit weighs very little and supports a maximum load of 11 lbs.

Sustained thermal behaviour

An open steel frame allows unrestricted airflow from room or central air conditioning across installed equipment. There are no fans or ducts to clog, so cooling performance remains constant during continuous operation. The design relies entirely on ambient air movement rather than forced convection.

Thermals noise and power draw

The rack itself draws no power and produces no noise because it contains no active components. Construction uses 2.0 mm SPCC steel finished in black and complies with RoHS and ANSI/EIA RS-310-C/D standards. Internal depth adjusts from 9.9" to 13.5" and overall dimensions are 19.50" x 5.25" x 9.90".

Questions about this item

How does the open-frame design of the WOW-320 affect heat buildup when equipment runs continuously?

The open frame relies on room or central air conditioning for airflow, so temperatures stay low as long as the surrounding space is cooled.

What mounting hardware must I already have to attach this 3U rack to a wall?

Standard EIA wall-mount brackets are included, so you only need suitable wall anchors and screws for your wall type.

Will my existing 16-inch-deep patch panel fit inside the 9.9-to-13.5-inch internal depth of the WOW-320?

The rack supports chassis up to 16 inches deep, but the internal adjustable depth ranges from 9.9 to 13.5 inches, so a 16-inch panel would exceed that range.
