Quad-port Gigabit Ethernet adapter

The Intel I340-T4 adds four RJ-45 ports running at 10/100/1000 Mbps over a single PCI Express 2.0 x4 slot. It suits servers or workstations that need multiple wired links for segmentation, failover or virtual-machine traffic.

Verify slot and bracket fit

Your motherboard must provide a free PCI Express 2.0 x4 or larger slot with enough physical clearance for a full-height card. Both a standard-profile bracket and a low-profile bracket are included so you can match either chassis height.

Plug-in card with dual brackets

The board ships as a plug-in card weighing 1.0 pound and includes both full-height and low-profile mounting brackets. Four RJ-45 connectors face the rear panel giving direct copper connections without extra cabling or transceivers.

Questions about this item

Does the Intel I340-T4 come with both bracket sizes so I can fit it in a low-profile chassis?

Yes, the adapter includes both a full-height bracket and a low-profile bracket in the box, so no separate bracket purchase is needed.

Should I choose the x4 PCIe 2.0 version or is there a different lane-count option for this model?

This model is only offered as a PCI Express 2.0 x4 card; there is no alternative lane-count version of the I340-T4.

What real-world throughput can I expect from each 10/100/1000Base-T port once the card is installed in a server?

Each of the four RJ-45 ports negotiates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps, so a 1000 Mbps link delivers up to 1 Gbps per port in actual use.
