Intel Xeon E72830 2.0GHz 24MB 105W LGA1567 32nm switch module

SKU CH-Y8AM-A6HEV

Eight-core Xeon processor running at 2.0 GHz with 24 MB cache for LGA 1567 servers

  • Octa-core Xeon handles heavy workloads with 2.0 GHz speed
  • 24 MB smart cache accelerates data access for demanding tasks
  • 4 GT/s QPI enables fast interconnect between processors
  • 32 nm process balances performance with 105 W thermal design

Intel Xeon E72830 server processor

This Intel Xeon E72830 processor delivers eight cores at 2.0 GHz with 24 MB Smart Cache for multi-socket server platforms. It fits the LGA1567 socket and uses a 32 nm manufacturing process. The 6.4 GT/s QPI link supports scalable interconnect bandwidth. It is not suited for single-socket workstations or desktop builds.

Thermals and power in normal use

The processor carries a 105 W TDP that defines its steady-state thermal envelope. Cooling solutions must dissipate this heat at sustained load. Fan speed and resulting noise depend on the chosen heatsink and chassis airflow. Power draw scales with core utilisation and QPI traffic.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Xeon E72830 into an LGA1567 socket without bending the pins?

Align the gold triangle on the processor with the socket marker, lower it straight down without pressure, close the load plate, then secure the lever; the 105W TDP requires a heatsink rated for that thermal load.

What cooling maintenance will the Xeon E72830 need over time?

Clean dust from the heatsink fins and fan every six to twelve months, and replace the thermal paste if temperatures rise above normal operating range for the 105W processor.
