Adds four 10 GbE X2 expansion slots to compatible ProCurve 5400 series switches
The HPE ProCurve 5400zl J8707A is a four-port 10-GbE X2 expansion module designed for ProCurve 5400 series switches. It adds high-speed uplinks or stacking links to a modular chassis using hot-swappable X2 transceivers.
Network engineers expanding a ProCurve 5400zl chassis with 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity will use this module. It is not suitable for switches outside the ProCurve 5400 series or for deployments that do not use X2 form-factor optics.
The module provides four X2 slots each rated at 10 Gbps maximum data transfer rate. Confirm the chassis has an available module slot and that the chosen X2 transceivers match the required reach and fibre type.

It requires a ProCurve 5400 series switch chassis with an available X2 expansion slot for installation.
Yes, it is compatible with ProCurve 5400 series switches and occupies one of four X2 slots, leaving other slots free for existing modules.
