Extends PoE links by 100 metres

The Intellinet 560962 is a single-port Gigabit High-Power PoE+ extender that pushes a PoE connection another 100 m (328 ft) over Cat5e or Cat6 cable. It draws the power it needs directly from the PoE input, so no separate power supply is required. Installation is a case of linking the PoE In port to a PoE switch or injector and the PoE Out port to the target device.

Suits installers who need extra reach without new

Network technicians extending wireless access points, IP cameras or VoIP phones beyond the standard Ethernet limit will find this extender fits the job. It is not for buyers who need multiple output ports from a single extender, nor for sites that lack a PoE+ source capable of feeding the chain.

IEEE 802.3at compliance decides fit

The extender follows the 802.3at standard, so it only works when the upstream switch or injector also supports that protocol. If the source equipment is limited to the earlier 802.3af specification, the extender will not receive enough power to operate.

Questions about this item

Does the 560962 extender add audible noise or heat when running continuously?

The unit has no fan and draws power from the PoE input, so it operates silently with minimal heat during all-day use.

What PoE source must I already have to power the 560962?

You need an IEEE 802.3at PoE+ injector or switch port to supply both data and power to the extender.

Will the 560962 work with my older 10/100 Mbps PoE cameras and phones?

Yes, the Gigabit ports auto-negotiate down to 10/100 speeds, so legacy PoE devices connect without configuration.
