What this cable is and who it fits

This Intellinet Cat5e UTP patch cable connects a switch, router or modem to another network device or to a patch panel and wall outlet. The orange PVC jacket makes it easy to identify in a crowded rack or home run.

The spec that decides fit

Rated for 10/100/1000BASE-T, the cable supports gigabit speeds over its 35 ft length. It is unshielded, so buyers who need protection from strong electromagnetic interference should choose a shielded alternative instead.

Install ease and common issues

Gold-plated RJ45 plugs and snag-free boots allow quick, tool-free insertion and removal. The molded strain relief reduces bend damage, but the cable is not rated for in-wall or outdoor use, so do not run it through walls or exposed environments.

Questions about this item

What real-world speed can I expect from the Cat5e rating on a 35 ft run?

Cat5e supports 10/100/1000BASE-T, so the cable will carry gigabit Ethernet at full line rate across the 35 ft length.

How does the unshielded UTP design affect the maximum data rate?

The UTP construction meets TIA/EIA Cat5e specs and is rated for 1000BASE-T; shielding is not required for gigabit speeds at this length.

Will the snag-free boots and PVC jacket let the cable bend tightly behind a patch panel?

The molded strain-relief boots and flexible PVC jacket are designed for tight routing in patch panels and wall outlets without kinking.
