This purple Cat6 cable uses unshielded twisted-pair wiring with RJ45 male connectors on both ends. It is built for home or office networks that need a short, reliable link between a router, switch, modem or wall outlet. The snag-free boots and molded strain relief protect the connectors during repeated plugging and unplugging.

Replaces older Cat5 or damaged patch leads

Swapping a worn Cat5 cable for this Cat6 version restores full gigabit throughput where the old link was limited to 100 megabits.
