Network Cable for Wired Links

This Cat6 UTP patch cable connects switches, routers, modems or patch panels in home and office networks. The 10.5 metre length suits runs between rooms or across equipment racks. Purple sheathing makes the link easy to identify among other cables.

Category 6 Unshielded Rating

The cable meets Cat6 performance for 10, 100 and 1000BASE-T networks. Gold-plated RJ45 contacts on both ends resist corrosion and maintain low resistance. No shielding is fitted, so keep the run away from strong electromagnetic sources.

Sustained Throughput Behaviour

Under continuous load the solid conductors and PVC jacket maintain signal integrity up to the rated 1000 Mbps. Snag-free boots protect the latch tabs during repeated reconnections. The moulded strain relief reduces conductor fatigue on long-term installations.

Questions about this item

Will a Cat6 cable run at 1000 Mbps on my home router?

Yes, Cat6 is rated for 1000BASE-T so it supports Gigabit Ethernet when both ends negotiate that speed.

Does the unshielded UTP design limit the cable in any way?

UTP works fine for typical home and office runs; it simply lacks the foil or braid found on shielded variants.

What clearance do I need for the snag-free boots on each RJ45 plug?

The molded boots add a small overhang beyond the jack, so allow a few centimetres behind the port for a clean bend.
