This duplex fibre patch cable uses OM4 multimode glass with a 50/125 µm core and LC/UPC connectors at both ends. The aqua jacket identifies the cable as OM4 and suits cross-connect or interconnect work in entrance facilities, telecommunications rooms and data centres. Each unit ships with its own test report.

Upgrades OM3 Links for 40G and 100G Ethernet

The OM4 specification raises modal bandwidth so that 40G and 100G Ethernet runs become practical over the same short-to-medium distances where OM3 would fall short. If an existing installation already uses OM3 and runs only 10G, the extra cost of OM4 will not be recovered.

Straightforward LC-to-LC Installation

Connectors are pre-terminated and polished to UPC standard, so the link is ready to plug into any LC port without field splicing or polishing. The 2.0 mm bend-insensitive jacket tolerates tight routing, but the cable is not shielded and must not be run in plenum spaces that require OFNP rating.
