Cable purpose and audience

This blue snagless Category 5e patch cable connects two RJ45 ports for wired network links. It suits home and office users who need a reliable 1 Gbps connection over a 7 ft run.

Who it fits and who it does not

The moulded snagless boots protect the latch during frequent plugging and unplugging, making it a good choice for desk or patch-panel changes. Installers who require shielded construction or a higher bandwidth rating should choose a different cable type.

Deciding specification

The cable is rated for 350 MHz and 1 Gbps communication using 4-pair stranded UTP with PVC jacket. This single rating determines whether the link meets the performance needed for the intended network segment.

Questions about this item

What bandwidth and speed does the Cat5e 350 MHz rating actually support?

The cable is rated for 350 MHz and 1 Gbps communication, so it will carry Gigabit Ethernet at full line rate.

Will the snagless RJ45 connectors fit a standard keystone jack or wall plate?

Yes, the two molded male RJ45 plugs are standard 8P8C connectors that mate with any Cat5/Cat5e keystone, patch panel or switch port.

How do I seat the snagless boot correctly so the latch does not catch?

Push the connector straight in until the latch clicks; the molded boot covers the latch tab, so you press the release lever instead of lifting the tab.
