3.5" bay to dual 2.5" hot-swap rack

This iStarUSA BPN-2535DE-SA adapter fits a single 3.5" drive bay and presents two hot-swappable 2.5" SATA bays. It is built for server administrators who need to add solid-state or mechanical 2.5" storage without occupying additional full-height slots. The aluminium chassis dissipates heat from high-performance drives. A key lock secures each drive against unauthorised removal.

Capacity and headroom

Two 2.5" SATA I, II or III drives up to 9.5 mm thick install side by side and run at the full 6.0 Gbps link speed. Each bay operates independently in JBOD mode so the array sees two separate volumes. The single SATA power connector and two data cables limit the installation to systems that can supply one power lead and two host ports. Drives thicker than 9.5 mm or 3.5" form-factor drives will not fit.

Bundled connectors and indicators

The package supplies one SATA power cable and two SATA data cables so the cage connects directly to the backplane or motherboard without extra parts. Front-panel LEDs show power status and per-drive access activity at a glance. The key lock ships with two keys, letting IT staff control physical access to the stored data. RoHS compliance confirms the assembly meets restricted-substance requirements.

Questions about this item

Will the two 2.5" drives fit behind my existing 3.5" bay without blocking adjacent slots?

The cage occupies a single 3.5" bay measuring 4.00 x 1.00 x 5.74 inches, leaving neighbouring bays free.

How do I confirm each 2.5" SATA drive is recognised and active after installation?

Front LEDs show power and per-drive HDD access so you can verify both drives are spinning and communicating.

Does the package include the SATA data cables and mounting screws, or must I source them separately?

The unit provides one SATA power and two SATA data connectors on the backplane; drive mounting screws and host-side cables are not included.
