The iStarUSA BPN-DE350SS-BLUE converts three standard 5.25" drive bays into five hot-swap 3.5" bays for SAS and SATA hard drives. It targets server builders and storage administrators who need dense, front-accessible storage without enlarging the chassis. The aluminium frame and integrated heat-sink design provide structural rigidity and passive cooling for heavy-duty operation. A blue front bezel with key lock secures each drive carrier.

The rack uses an integrative aluminium structure that acts as a heat sink while supporting five drive carriers. Each carrier slides in from the front without tools and locks with a metal key mechanism for double safety. An 80 mm cooling fan draws air across the drives, and its cover is removable for cleaning. Blue and purple LEDs show power and drive activity at a glance, so technicians can monitor status without opening the case.

6.0 Gbps SATA ceiling and SAS I/II support

The backplane delivers up to 6.0 Gbps per drive on SATA III, while also accepting SAS I and II drives at their native link speeds. Drives limited to SATA I or II will operate at their lower maximum throughput, and SAS III drives will fall back to SAS II rates. The hot-swap function requires a controller and backplane that support surprise insertion and removal; older RAID cards without hot-plug firmware will not allow live drive changes.
