Converts three 5.25-inch bays into four hot-swap 3.5-inch SATA 2.0 drive slots with an 80 mm cooling fan and RAID 0/1/5 support
The iStarUSA BPU-340-SA BLUE fits four 3.5-inch SATA drives into three standard 5.25-inch bays. It targets server builders and workstation users who need high-density storage with hot-swap capability for RAID 0, 1 or 5 arrays. The all-aluminium body includes conductive dissipation grooves to help manage drive temperatures.
An 80 mm cooling fan provides front-to-back airflow across the installed drives. A fan-speed control switch lets the operator balance airflow against acoustic output. Power, fan-status and high-temperature LED indicators give immediate visual feedback on the subsystem health during normal operation.
The package supplies four SATA 2.0 cables for direct connection to a host controller or motherboard. Hot-swap support and RAID modes require a compatible RAID controller, which is not included. The cage accepts both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA I, II and III hard drives for flexible deployment.

Mount the aluminum cage into three 5.25-inch bays using the supplied screws, then connect the four included SATA cables to the backplane ports; the step often missed is attaching the fan power lead to a motherboard header so the 80 mm fan runs and the temperature LED functions.
The 80 mm cooling fan is the only moving part; clean its blades periodically and replace the fan if bearing noise appears or airflow drops, otherwise the all-aluminum body and hot-swap trays require no scheduled service.
The SATA 2.0 interface caps sustained throughput at 3 Gb/s, so drive arrays will hit that bandwidth ceiling before the aluminum heat-sink body or the 80 mm fan reach thermal limits.
