Drive density and interface fit

The iStarUSA BPU-340HD-BPL fits three 5.25-inch front bays and provides four hot-swap trays for 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SAS and SATA drives. It targets server builders who need high-density storage with 12Gb/s throughput in a compact aluminium chassis. Lockable trays add physical security for multi-tenant environments.

Bay count and cable routing

Verify that your chassis has three adjacent 5.25-inch openings and enough depth for the 8.03-inch enclosure. The package includes four SATA cables; SAS installations will require compatible cables and a RAID controller for array management. Confirm your backplane or HBA supports SAS I, II or III signalling before ordering.

Thermal behaviour under load

A single 80 mm fan with a speed-control switch moves air across the conductive dissipation grooves in the aluminium body. Power, drive-activity, fan and high-temperature LEDs give immediate status feedback. The design is rated for 14 TB drives, so sustained write workloads stay within thermal limits without throttling.
