The BPU-350HD-BLACK converts three standard 5.25-inch bays into five hot-swap trays that accept both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives. It is built for server administrators who need to add or replace SAS I/II/III or SATA I/II/III storage without powering down the chassis.

Aluminium chassis with active cooling

The front bezel, handle and main body are machined from aluminium and include conductive dissipation grooves that spread drive heat toward a single 80mm fan. A fan-speed control switch lets operators balance airflow against acoustic output, while LEDs report power status, drive activity, fan operation and high-temperature warnings at a glance.

12 Gb/s interface ceiling and controller dependency

Each tray is wired for up to 12 Gb/s transfer rates, so the backplane itself does not limit modern SAS III or SATA III drives. RAID functionality is not integrated; a separate RAID controller must be installed to configure arrays. The included five SATA cables connect the backplane to that controller or to host bus adapters.
