Server accessory for hot-swap SATA and SAS drives

The iStarUSA T-7M1-SATA-KL fits a standard 5.25 inch bay and accepts one 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch drive with SATA or SAS interfaces. A key lock secures the tray while power and activity LEDs show drive status at a glance. It is aimed at administrators who need quick drive changes without opening the chassis.

Sustained load behaviour with active cooling

An 80 mm blower fan pushes air directly over the installed drive to keep temperatures stable during continuous read and write cycles. The aluminium chassis acts as a heatsink and the power button lets you spin the drive down before removal. No master or slave jumpers are required so the drive appears immediately after insertion.

Interface practical limits

The backplane supports SATA I, II and III as well as SAS I and II with a maximum transfer rate of 6.0 Gbps. Drives up to 6 TB have been validated for compatibility. The cableless SATA connector ensures a clean signal path but performance will not exceed the 6.0 Gbps ceiling of the SATA III and SAS II specifications.
