Compact 10 Inch 8U Server Cabinet

The 52Pi DeskPi RackMate T1 is an open-frame server cabinet built from 10 mm thick die-cast aluminium. Its 10 inch width and 8U height fit on a desk while supporting heavy equipment such as UPS units and NAS devices. The silver finish suits home labs, small offices and space-constrained enterprise racks.

Ideal for Desk-Mounted Home Labs

This cabinet suits makers, developers and educators who need quick, tool-free access to gear and rely on natural airflow for cooling. It is not for installations that require lockable side panels, forced-air ducting or a different rack width.

10 Inch Width Defines Compatibility

The 10 inch internal width determines which shelves, patch panels and chassis will mount directly. Verify that every device you plan to install conforms to this width before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will my existing 10-inch rackmount gear fit the 8U height and 10mm aluminum rails of this DeskPi RackMate T1?

The cabinet provides 8U of vertical space and uses 10mm thick die-cast aluminum rails, so any equipment designed for a 10-inch, 8U form factor will mount directly.

Can I keep my current 10-inch shelves and blanking panels when moving them into this open-frame silver cabinet?

Yes, standard 10-inch accessories attach to the same mounting holes used by the 8U aluminium structure, so shelves and panels transfer without modification.

How do I confirm the DeskPi RackMate T1 is correctly assembled and holding its rated load after setup?

Verify all bolts are tight, the frame sits level on its desk-mount feet, and the 10mm aluminium shows no flex when equipment is installed.
