Converts digital DVI-D 24+1 male signals to analog VGA female for 1080p and 1920x1200 resolution displays, requiring a separate VGA cable
This adapter connects a DVI-D source to a VGA display, converting digital DVI signals to analog VGA output. It supports desktops and laptops with a DVI-D 24+1 port, including systems from Lenovo, Dell, HP and ASUS. A separate VGA cable is required and not included. It does not work in the reverse direction or with DVI-I signals.
The single specification that decides fit is the supported resolution list: PC graphics up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz and HDTV up to 1080p at 60 Hz, with a bandwidth of 1.65 Gbps. Supported PC modes include 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080 at 60 Hz.
The adapter is a passive plug-and-play device with no fan, no external power supply and no audio support. It draws minimal power from the DVI port and produces no audible noise during normal use. Operating temperature remains low because there are no active components.

It means the converter can pass a 1920x1080 signal at 60 Hz from a DVI-D source to a VGA monitor without scaling or frame drops.
The single-link DVI-D interface caps bandwidth at 1.65 Gbps, which is enough for 1920x1200 at 60 Hz but not for higher refresh rates or resolutions.
You need a separate VGA cable (male-to-male) to run from the adapter’s VGA female port to your monitor, TV or KVM input.
