Two-pack HDMI-to-VGA converters

This twin pack provides two compact adapters that translate an HDMI digital signal into a VGA analogue signal for monitors, projectors or HDTVs. Each unit is uni-directional and supports resolutions up to 1920x1080@60Hz including 720p, 1600x1200 and 1280x1024. They suit desktop, laptop, Chromebook, Raspberry Pi and selected console users who need a legacy VGA connection.

Plug-and-play installation

No drivers or external power are required; simply insert the gold-plated HDMI male plug into the source and connect a VGA cable to the female port. The built-in IC chip handles the conversion automatically. A common issue is attempting to use the adapter with low-power HDMI ports such as those on the PS4, MacBook Pro with Retina Display, Mac mini or Apple TV, which will not supply enough current for the chip to operate.

Check source device compatibility

Verify that your HDMI source is listed as compatible — typical PCs, laptops, ultrabooks, Intel NUC, Roku, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U are supported. Ensure the source is not a Blu-ray player or any device with a low-power HDMI port, as the adapter will not function. Also confirm that your display accepts a VGA input and that you have a separate VGA cable, because audio is not carried through this converter.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the iXever adapter is outputting 1920x1080 at 60Hz after plugging it in?

Check your display's on-screen menu or your computer's display settings; the adapter supports up to 1920x1080@60Hz and will pass that resolution when the source and monitor negotiate it.

The pack says 2 adapters — does each one include a separate VGA cable or must I buy those separately?

The package contains two HDMI male to VGA female adapter cables; you still need your own VGA cables to run from each adapter to the monitors or projectors.

I have a PS3, an Xbox 360 and a Chromebook — which of those will work with the 1080p converter?

All three are listed as compatible; the adapter works with PS3, Xbox 360 and Chromebook HDMI ports up to 1920x1080@60Hz.
