Connect legacy displays

This converter lets you connect an HDMI source such as a set-top box, game console or media player to an older television that only accepts composite RCA inputs. It accepts a 1080p 60 Hz signal and down-converts it to 480i or 576i CVBS while preserving stereo audio. The unit is aimed at installers and home users who need to keep analogue displays in service.

Power and cabling needs

A 5 V 1 A mains adapter is included and must be connected for the conversion circuitry to operate. One HDMI cable carries the source signal into the box; a second HDMI cable can pass the original digital signal onward to a modern display while the three RCA leads feed the analogue set. No software drivers or firmware updates are required.

Simultaneous dual output

The box splits the incoming HDMI stream so you get both an HDMI loop-through and a composite RCA output at the same time. This means a single source can drive a new HDTV and a legacy CRT or projector without switching cables. NTSC and PAL output standards are selectable to match regional broadcast formats.

Questions about this item

Will the converter maintain 1080p 60 Hz output during extended sessions?

The unit handles 1080p at 60 Hz input and output continuously, limited only by the 5 V 1 A power supply.

Does the box run hot or make noise when left on all day?

No fan is present; the low-power design stays cool and silent during continuous operation.

What cables or sources do I need to start using this converter?

Provide an HDMI source, one HDMI cable for the pass-through output, and a composite RCA cable with stereo audio for the CVBS output.
