HDMI to Dual SDI Converter

The Jansicotek HDMI2SDI converts a single HDMI source into two identical SDI feeds for broadcast monitors or recording decks. It accepts HDMI 1.3 signals with HDCP 1.3 and passes embedded audio alongside video. The unit is aimed at production crews, AV installers and streaming operators who need to distribute one HDMI camera or playback device to multiple SDI destinations without signal loss.

Passive Thermal Design

No fan or active cooling is fitted; the aluminium enclosure dissipates the low power draw silently during normal operation. A USB power cable is supplied and the converter operates without an external mains adapter, drawing only the current required for the 2.970 Gbit/s SDI line drivers. The built-in ESD protection circuitry guards the HDMI input and both SDI outputs against static discharge in studio or field environments.

Sustained Signal Integrity

Under continuous operation the converter maintains the full 2.970 Gbit/s bit-rate on each SDI output, supporting 3G-SDI links up to 100 metres, HD-SDI up to 200 metres and SD-SDI up to 300 metres without re-clocking. Embedded audio remains synchronised with video across both outputs for the duration of long-form events, lectures or security monitoring sessions. The HDMI input continues to accept 1080p at 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 Hz as well as 720p and standard-definition formats throughout extended use.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Jansicotek HDMI2SDI and which step is often missed?

Connect the HDMI source to the single input, then run two SDI cables to the displays; the step often missed is confirming the source outputs one of the listed formats such as 1080p@50 or 60 Hz so the converter can lock.

What maintenance or replacement will the HDMI2SDI need later?

The unit has no user-serviceable parts; only the included USB power cable or the power adapter may need replacement if the connector wears or the cable is damaged.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the HDMI2SDI?

The converter passes through the source resolution up to 1080p@60 Hz at 2.970 Gbit/s, so the first limit is the maximum supported output format and bit-rate of the connected SDI displays and cable length.
