Connects 2.5" SATA SSD or HDD to USB-C and USB 3.0 ports with UASP support for up to 5 Gbps transfer
This adapter connects a 2.5-inch SATA SSD or HDD to a computer using either a USB-C or USB 3.0 Type-A port. It is designed for users who need quick, driver-free access to laptop drives for data recovery, backups or storage expansion. The short 7.9-inch cable keeps the setup compact for transport.
Suitable for technicians and everyday users retrieving files from old notebook drives or cloning a system drive to a new SSD. It will not work with 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch drives because those require 12 V power that the USB ports cannot supply. Buyers needing to connect larger desktop drives should look at a powered docking station instead.
The ASM1153E chipset delivers USB 3.0 transfer rates up to 5 Gbps and supports UASP for reduced overhead. Backwards compatibility covers USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps and SATA II and SATA I drives. macOS, Windows, Linux and Chrome OS are all supported without additional software.

The box contains one 2in1 USB-C/USB 3.0 to SATA adapter cable. No separate power cable is needed or included for 2.5" drives.
It works with 2.5" SATA SSDs and HDDs using SATA III, SATA II or SATA I interfaces. It does not support 3.5" or 5.25" drives.
On a USB 3.0 port the link runs at up to 5 Gbps; with UASP the real-world throughput can be up to 70% faster than standard USB 3.0. On USB 2.0 it falls back to 480 Mbps.
