It serves gamers and home-theatre owners who need to send multichannel sound from a console or media player to an amplifier or soundbar while keeping the video path intact.

Sustains 48 Gbps bandwidth for 8K 60 Hz

The device maintains the full 48 Gbps link rate specified for HDMI 2.1, allowing continuous 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 120 Hz with RGB 4:4:4 chroma. HDCP 2.3 and 2.2 pass-through, CEC control, VRR and dynamic HDR formats including Dolby Vision and HDR10+ remain active during extended sessions without signal degradation.

Check that your display supports 7.1-channel LPCM

The HDMI audio output delivers up to 7.1-channel LPCM, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, but the extractor does not support ARC or eARC. If the connected TV or monitor cannot accept 7.1-channel audio over its HDMI input, no sound will be produced in that mode. The Toslink and coaxial outputs are limited to 5.1-channel, while the 3.5 mm jack provides stereo only.
