Two-input 4K HDMI switch with audio extraction

The Jansicotek OZV2E routes two HDMI 2.0b sources to a single display while pulling the soundtrack out through optical, coaxial, 3.5 mm or a dedicated HDMI audio port. It handles 4K at 60 Hz with 18.5 Gbps bandwidth and supports HDR colour spaces including RGB 8:8:8 and YCbCr 4:4:4. A four-position toggle selects stereo, 5.1 or 7.1 channel output formats. The unit ships with an IR remote and a 5 V power adapter.

HDMI 2.0b limits video to 60 Hz at 4K resolution

The switch tops out at 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60 frames per second, so 120 Hz 4K sources will drop to 60 Hz or a lower resolution. HDCP 2.3 protection is supported, but the 18.5 Gbps ceiling means 10-bit or 12-bit 4K 60 Hz is restricted to YCbCr 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 sampling. ARC and eARC return audio from a compatible TV, yet the extractor cannot pass through uncompressed multichannel PCM beyond 7.1 channels.

Seven-channel HDMI audio output decides

The dedicated HDMI audio-only port delivers up to LPCM 7.1 plus Dolby TrueHD, Atmos, DTS-HD Master and DTS:X bitstreams to an AV receiver that lacks HDMI 2.0b video inputs. If your amplifier only accepts stereo PCM or legacy Dolby Digital, the toggle switch can downmix accordingly. Buyers who need more than two HDMI inputs or 4K 120 Hz passthrough should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the OZV2E if I need to connect two 4K sources to one display?

Yes — the OZV2E is a 2x1 HDMI switch that accepts two HDMI 2.0b inputs and routes one to a single HDMI 2.0b output at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz.

What does the 18.5 Gbps bandwidth mean when I plug it in?

It carries full 4K 60 Hz RGB 8:8:8 or YCbCr 4:4:4 video plus high-bitrate audio such as Dolby Atmos or DTS:X without compression.

Which HDMI version and HDCP level does the switch use, and what does that cap?

HDMI 2.0b with HDCP 2.3 limits video to 4K at 60 Hz and 18.5 Gbps, so 4K 120 Hz or 8K signals will not pass through.
