SDI to HDMI Conversion

The Jansicotek SDI2HDMI converts serial digital interface signals to HDMI for monitoring on common displays. It accepts SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI inputs up to 1080p at 60 Hz and provides simultaneous HDMI and SDI loop-through outputs. The unit is powered from a USB 5 V 1 A source and includes a power adapter. Professional camera operators and broadcast technicians can integrate it directly into existing SDI workflows.

Supported Formats and Headroom

Input formats cover 480i, 576i, 720p at 50 or 60 Hz, 1080i at 50 or 60 Hz, and 1080p at 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 Hz. HDMI output mirrors these resolutions up to 1080p60 with 10-bit deep colour support. The 2.97 Gbps data rate handles 3G-SDI bandwidth without compression. It does not support 4K or higher frame-rate 1080p signals beyond 60 Hz.

Interface and Signal Limits

The converter uses a single BNC input for SDI and provides one HDMI type A output plus one BNC loop output. It complies with SMPTE 259, 274, 292, 296, 372, 424 and 425 standards. Embedded audio up to 8 channels at 24-bit 48 kHz passes through HDMI. Cascading multiple units is not recommended due to re-clocking constraints. Buyers needing 4K conversion or multi-channel SDI switching should consider other solutions.
