Four-computer HDMI 2.1 KVM

The Jansicotek SW241-HD lets four computers or laptops share one HDMI monitor and a single keyboard and mouse set. Four USB 3.0 ports on the switch provide peripheral access for each connected system. Push-button switching and an included IR remote give two ways to change the active computer. The unit is driver-free and works with Windows, Linux and UNIX platforms.

Passive cooling and external power

The metal enclosure dissipates heat without a fan, so operation stays silent on the desk. A 12 V 1 A external supply powers the switch and the four USB 3.0 downstream ports, removing load from the host computers. Auto-scan cycles through the four inputs every three seconds when enabled. Front-panel LEDs show which port is active at a glance.

Rear-facing ports keep cables tidy

All HDMI and USB connectors face the rear, routing cables away from the workspace. The package includes four USB 3.0 A-to-A cables, the power adapter, an IR extender cable, the remote control and a manual. The switch supports resolutions up to 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz. Buyers needing more than four computer ports or multiple simultaneous monitor outputs will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

How do I connect four computers to the SW241-HD and which step is often missed?

Plug each computer's HDMI and USB 3.0 cables into the four rear ports, connect the monitor to the single HDMI output, attach the 12V 1A power adapter, then use the push buttons or IR remote to switch; the step most often missed is powering the unit before linking the computers.

What maintenance will the SW241-HD need over time?

The IR remote uses a replaceable coin cell — swap it when switching range shortens; keep the rear vents clear of dust and reseat the four HDMI and USB 3.0 cables if signal dropouts appear after frequent switching.

What limit appears first during extended 8K 60 Hz sessions?

The 12V 1A external supply caps total USB 3.0 downstream current, so sustained 8K 60 Hz video with all four peripheral ports loaded can trigger power throttling before any thermal limit is reached.
