164 ft VESA Certified DP 1.4 Fiber Cable

This fiber optic DisplayPort cable extends a DP 1.4 link to 164 ft. It carries uncompressed video and audio from a source device to a distant display without signal degradation. The directional design requires the Source plug on the graphics card or PC and the Display plug on the monitor, TV or projector. It suits installations where copper cables cannot reach.

32.4 Gbps bandwidth for 8K 60 Hz

The cable delivers 32.4 Gbps of bandwidth, enabling 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz and 2K at 240 Hz. It also supports 5K at 60 Hz, 1080p at 240 Hz and Dynamic HDR with HDCP 2.2. Backward compatibility covers DisplayPort 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1. The four core optical fibers maintain stable high speed transmission over the full length.

Directional plugs and zinc alloy shells

Connect the Source end to the GPU or laptop and the Display end to the screen; reversing the plugs breaks the link. Gold plated connectors and a zinc alloy shell with piano paint finish resist wear and cracking. A single Al Mylar foil shield blocks electromagnetic interference. The fiber construction eliminates the bulk and weight of long copper runs, freeing routing space in walls or conduit.

Questions about this item

What does the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth mean for my 8K display?

It carries the full 8K 7680×4320 signal at 60 Hz without compression, so you get every pixel and colour depth the monitor can show.

How does the DisplayPort 1.4 interface limit what I can run?

The DP 1.4 link caps at 32.4 Gbps, enabling 8K@60 Hz, 4K@144 Hz or 2K@240 Hz, but it cannot reach 8K@120 Hz or 4K@240 Hz.

What do I need to check before routing this 164 ft cable through walls?

The cable is directional — one end is marked Source for the GPU or PC, the other Display for the monitor — and the fibre cores must not be kinked tighter than the minimum bend radius.
