No driver or software is required; simply insert the USB-C plug into the host and the DisplayPort plug into the monitor. The cable is unidirectional, so it only carries signals from USB-C to DisplayPort and cannot be used in reverse.

The HBR3 link with DSC 1.2 supports 7680×4320 at 60 Hz, 3840×2160 at 144 Hz and 2560×1440 at 240 Hz. It does not deliver power, so connected devices cannot charge through this cable.
