50-metre optical DisplayPort 1.4 cable

This 164 ft fibre-optic cable carries DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 signals up to 32.4 Gbps. It supports 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz while remaining backward compatible with 2K and 1080P sources. The hybrid glass-fibre and copper construction is designed for long in-wall runs where copper cables would lose signal integrity.

Gold-plated connectors with directional design

Each end uses a male DisplayPort 1.4 connector with 24 K gold-plated contacts inside a zinc-alloy shell. The TPE jacket resists wear during installation. Because the optical engine is directional, one plug is marked Source and the other Display; reversing them will break the link.

Passive optical link with no external power

The cable draws the small current it needs from the DisplayPort source device, so no separate power supply is required. Fibre transmission eliminates electromagnetic interference and keeps latency low over the full 50 m length. Connector shells stay cool during normal operation because the optical modules consume minimal power.

Questions about this item

What bandwidth does the DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 interface cap at on this cable?

The DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 connection supports up to 32.4Gbps bandwidth, enabling 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 144Hz without compression.

What physical clearance and routing does a 50m hybrid optical cable require?

The 164ft hybrid cable uses a slim TPE jacket with glass fibre and copper conductors, so it bends easily for in-wall runs but must not be kinked or crushed during installation.

How do I install the directional connectors correctly on this fiber cable?

One end is marked Source for the GPU or media player and the other Display for the monitor; reversing them breaks the signal because the optical engines only transmit one way.
