Connects 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA drives via USB 3.0 at up to 5 Gbps with included 12V 2A power adapter for 3.5 inch drives
The adapter connects any standard 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA HDD or SSD to a computer through a USB 3.0 port. It is intended for users who need to back up files, upgrade a notebook drive or access data from a bare drive without an enclosure. The cable works with Windows, Mac OS X and PS4.
Data transfer reaches up to 5 Gbps on USB 3.0 and the adapter is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 ports. UASP support reduces processor overhead by 80 percent and can deliver 70 percent higher throughput than traditional USB 3.0 when the host controller also supports UASP. The cable complies with serial ATA 2.0 standards for 1.5 and 3 Gbps drives.
The adapter supports SATA drives up to 12 TB, giving ample headroom for current high-capacity HDDs and SSDs. A 12V 2A power adapter is included and is required for 3.5 inch drives; 2.5 inch drives can often run from the USB port alone. Hot-swapping allows drive changes without rebooting.

One cable fits both 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch SATA drives. The included 12V 2A power adapter is required when you connect a 3.5 inch hard drive.
The adapter supports USB 3.0 speeds up to 5 Gbps. With UASP enabled on your host controller, throughput can be up to 70 percent faster than standard USB 3.0 and uses 80 percent less CPU.
The cable complies with Serial ATA 2.0 and works with SATA I (1.5 Gbps), SATA II (3 Gbps) and SATA III (6 Gbps) drives. The USB 3.0 link limits real-world throughput to 5 Gbps.
