Converts VGA and 3.5 mm audio to HDMI at 1080p 60 Hz, USB-powered for broad device compatibility
This adapter converts analogue VGA signals into digital HDMI output at up to 1920x1080 at 60Hz. It is designed for desktops, laptops or media boxes that only have a VGA port and need to connect to a modern monitor, projector or HDTV. The unit draws power from a USB cable so it works with a wider range of source devices than unpowered alternatives.
A USB power cable and a 3.5mm audio cable are supplied in the box. The USB cable powers the converter, removing the need for a separate mains adapter. The 3.5mm lead carries analogue stereo audio from the source into the converter, where it is embedded into the HDMI stream alongside the video for a single-cable connection to the display.
The black housing weighs 40g and fits easily behind a PC or in a laptop bag. Input ports are VGA, 3.5mm audio and USB power; the single output is HDMI. A physical switch on the device selects between 720p and 1080p output modes. Supported input resolutions at 60Hz range from 640x480 through 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1600x1200 up to 1920x1080. No drivers are required for operation.

The converter draws power from the USB cable and carries audio through the 3.5 mm port; both cables are standard types and can be swapped for any compatible USB-A or 3.5 mm lead if they wear out.
The highest supported input is 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz; the scaler cannot pass anything above that, so 1080p 60 Hz is the hard limit under sustained use.
It is powered by a standard USB cable at 5 V, so total draw stays low and the lightweight 40 g enclosure stays cool during continuous operation.
