Classic boombox with CD and cassette

The JENSEN CD-590-C is a portable stereo boombox that plays CDs, MP3 CDs, CD-R and CD-RW discs and records or plays cassette tapes. It also receives AM and FM radio and streams audio via Bluetooth. The champagne finish and foldable handle suit listeners who want a single device for discs, tapes and wireless playback.

1-watt output and frequency range

The system delivers 1 watt of stereo power with a frequency response of 100 Hz to 10 kHz. This covers voice, radio and compressed music clearly, but lacks the headroom for deep bass or high-volume room-filling sound. The top-loading CD mechanism and multifunction LCD with blue backlight provide basic track control including skip, search, repeat one or repeat all.

Replaces separate CD, tape and radio units

Owners can consolidate a standalone CD player, cassette deck and clock radio into one mains-powered unit that also runs on batteries for portability. The jump is worth it when desk or shelf space is limited and Bluetooth streaming from a phone is the only modern feature required. Buyers who need higher output, wider frequency response or digital file playback beyond MP3 CDs should look elsewhere.
