On-Camera Shotgun Microphone

The Joby Wavo PRO is a directional on-camera shotgun microphone built for creators and filmmakers who record directly to camera. It mounts on a hot shoe and captures broadcast-level audio for video production.

For run-and-gun video creators

Suits solo shooters, vloggers and interview-based creators who need cleaner in-camera sound without a separate recorder. Not for studio podcasters who need XLR inputs or multi-track mixing, or buyers who want a USB microphone for desktop streaming.

Active Noise Reduction algorithm

The built-in ANR algorithm removes self-generated structural noise from walking or camera movement in real time, delivering cleaner audio directly into the camera while shooting on the go.

Questions about this item

Does this microphone need a camera with a microphone input to work?

The Joby Wavo PRO connects to cameras via the on-camera shoe and a cable to the microphone input, so the camera must provide that jack.

Can the Wavo PRO replace the internal microphone on an older DSLR that lacks manual audio controls?

Yes, the built-in Active Noise Reduction and automatic power mode give clean, level-managed audio even if the camera body has no gain settings.

How do I confirm the Wavo PRO is recording a safe track at the -10 dB setting?

The on-board LEDs display battery and audio levels in real time, and the companion app shows the active gain mode while you monitor.
